Description
Mozilla-firefox-adblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/1865) should be replaced by Adblock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865)in Ubuntu's repositories because the Adblock isn't developed anymore (since 2004).

Wouldn't do much good in Hardy just yet. They've not updated it to work with beta5 yet.

Why include Firefox extensions in the repo at all?

I agree. Firefox is updated regularly, with extensions compatibility lagging behind. Firefox has its own tools for keep extensions in check. [global] Installation, updates and removal.

Yeah, no firefox extensions should be in the repo, inless they are being installed by default

agree, no reason to have them in the repositories... that's probably the reason why you see such an outdated version there.

Agree, but please DON'T install this by default. It would only hurt Google, who is helping the OSS community.

Having this by default is one of the reasons I use Swiftweasel.

@thegzeus: Swiftweasel rocks, but installing any FF extension is really easy through the addons site. Leave the job where it belongs.

Just notified that mozilla-firefox-adblock package is now a transitional package to adblock-plus in Hardy. Could a moderator/adminstrator mark this idea as done?
