Description
I have another idea on brainstorm where someone responded and I would like to ask that person for additional feedback. I think brainstorm should have somewhere on a user's profile where I could send a message to them. When someone is critical of an idea they aren't likely to ever return to see how the idea has progressed.
Please leave a comment if you vote this down. I would like to know what people this is wrong with this idea.

I voted this up because I feel that anonymous cowards shouldn't be allowed to vote things down without any additional way to request feedback.

That would more than likely just lead to cliques forming and gaming of submissions. Or spam from people telling you to vote their idea up. Besides, a user has the right to vote anyway they want with or without prejudice. They shouldn't feel pressured to explain why they vote a certain way or even feel that they should have to follow up on it.
It's just a website. It's not like more than 10% of this stuff will ever actually see fruition anyways.

Was tempted to vote this one up, but then remembered that Brainstorm is not a discussion forum and, as I understand it, was never intend to be.

Well, it looks like this has been implemented, and now I seriously have to decide if I'll keep supporting brainstorm.
Brainstorm should become more and more anonymous. Instead its now at the point where its more a forum, and in typical forum style, groups will form, and votes will become less and less based on the quality of ideas, but more based on who posted it.
Posting a bad idea in the past, shouldn't affect the acceptance of a persons future idea.
And messaging might be good to bring developers together, but now I seriously see things going in the opposite direction.
I signed up initially because I believed it would be a fair system, but with all the changes being made, it seems to have become less and less fair.
