Easiest way would be creating repository file (like so od normal application).
Eg. you can make Qt4 application with html file, pictures etc. inside it but... its normal application.
Creating applications just to have website in one file isnt great idea - firefox should be able to save and read files like that. I think it will be developped faster if youll post this idea on firefox forum.

whats wrong with just having all the files in a folder? thats basically the same thing your asking for, and it already exists. Is there a reason why a folder structure does not work for what you want to do?

What are you talking about?
Do you even know HTML?

I have programmed in HTML. So I am well aware. I am also aware that HTML is an old standart and is replaces by little progs which interacts with the browser to show content.
But still the way of saving is inefficient.
But You are right: There are many files which have the same problem with auxiliary data. Maybe Ubuntu can think about a little part of the harddisk where auxiliary data of every file is saved. This auxiliary data could be hidden and connected with a file.

Ok
What about a file folder hybrid. An icon that You can open as a folder and run as a file. Would be handy for many apps.
