Description
Ubuntu can not be installed inside VirtualBox. Other linux distros can. When testing new distros or when you are a windows user and looking for a good linux distro then it`s quite bad that Ubuntu isn`t running inside VirtualNox.

I think it`s important that Ubuntu works inside all important virtualizers.

Is this a Ubuntu or a VirtualBox issue?

The answer isn`t that important. I tested a lot of linux distros and only Ubuntu did not work in VirtualBox.

VirtualBox is Open Source and now owned by Sun, I am sure them are happy to fix this issues also.

It`s important in order to get new users to Ubuntu. Testing it before is a good thing and if it does not work because of this then the user will go to any other distro such as suse and I think you don`t want that.

I confess that I have not tested Hardy in virtual box yet but I am pretty sure that gutsy did work... are you sure it is not a problem of your virtual box? or perhaps I am just a lucky guy...

I test Hardy when it`s released but gusty did not work. Some other people had also that problem.

Define not work.

Either way, confirm it is an actual ubuntu bug, in that case report it. Either way, brainstorm was not place for this.

Gutsy and hardy works fine in virtualbox here. Certainly something wrong with your setup...

Gutsy works for me in VirtualBox.

Implemented since VirtualBox 1.6.0 right? I'm running Hardy now, which I wasn't able on VirtualBox 1.5.x.
