Description
This may help and solve other ideas to check capability Ubuntu with computer.

Just select option when LiveCD start (something) like memtest

Not create new tool or create optionaly, but this functionaly should be in default LiveCD.

I think he means an option in the live CD to check if ubuntu is going to work with his hardware.
It is a very good idea, it would be very nice to check if the hardware is compatible before doing an installation.

you mean something automated beyond running the LiveCD and manually checking that everything works... sounds neat, but I'd boot and see for myself anyway.

If the PC ram is less than specified, the live-cd will boot, but will hang in the middle. A confusing situation for most unless you know how much ram you have and how much is specified.
