Add Flock Web Browser to Universe or Multiverse

The flock web browser (www.flock.com) is a great example of social networking tied into the mozilla backend. photobucket and flickr integration, wordpress blogging, gmail, online bookmark sites, facebook, youtube, and twitter. All in one tightly integrated package.

Having this browser as a standard option in the repos will, in my opinion give a better desktop experience to those interested in that sort of thing.

With the success of digg, facebook, and other social sites, making it easier to use a package like this (rather than going to a place like getdeb) and deploy it will only make our repos better and our platform more fun for new users.

Flock might be bloated but it is geared towards teenagers and young college kids. This would be great way to point it out to users, that they can use Flock browser if they choose to replace Firefox. All about choice me thinks.

Just because some users think Flock is "bloat" or unnecessary doesn't mean that it doesn't belong in the repositories. It is open source and mainstream software, so I don't see any reason it shouldn't be added. This isn't suggesting that it be installed by default; I would disagree with that as well.

With the addition of the new Flock "Eco-Edition" browser, I've now started using it instead of Firefox. It think it'd be nice to see a package added for it in Hardy.
