voted down because a face browser makes a system less secure. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid. But how much time do I really want to spend coming up with a password that no one will guess when I can just use a handle as my login name and make a person have to guess two things, never knowing which, if any of them, are correct?

i voted down cuz I can write my nick and password faster than wait for loading photos, look for my one, click and write my password.

A project is being worked upon about this idea :

I definitely think it will make users' lives easier.

kdm already allows to click on an avatar to preselect a user account: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/1284/kdmel3.jpg
Why couldn't gdm have such feature ?

Of coure, I am sure that if you don't want to use gdm-face-browser, you'll still be able to use gdm with its current behaviour.
