Description
The Avant-Window-Manager is now on the repositories, but it's extras applets are not. AWN is not too much useful without them.

to use them we must download the sources and compile.

You could file a bug at launchpad that ask for this and give it the tag 'needs-packaging'. It happens often with requests like this.

Currently awn-extras 0.2.6 is in Intrepid, which is great, and this can be marked as completed.

In the future, please use the procedures described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages for requesting and creating new packages for inclusion in the repositories.

Apple's OS X Dock is now patented [1] so AWN, if still around in a year, will never be included by default with Ubuntu.
