Description
If you use TrueCrypt on other volumes, it can be a pain after reinstalls to find and reinstall TrueCrypt. It is quite small, and now has GTK2 support, so fits nicely with the default Gnome Desktop.

I think a better solution would to have TrueCrypt in one of the Ubuntu repositories so you could use Synaptic to get it if necessary. I don't think everyone needs it installed by default. I can see that it would be useful, but I think most people wouldn't even know it was there.

TrueCrypt is an awesome awesome program.

But it's not for the casual user and even putting it by default is asking for trouble.

Unfortunately TrueCrypt has a custom license. :(
"TrueCrypt Public License".
