Ubuntu didn't create the Operating System. Ubuntu is a distribution of Linux Torvald's (and the hundreds of contributors) kernel and Richard Stallman's (and hundred of contributors) GNU tools. Also included are thousands of applications from other developers.

Ubuntu packages these in to an easy to use distribution. I love Ubuntu, but let's give credit where credit is due.

Putting together a distribution as great as Ubuntu is no easy task, but this still isn't really an idea. Brainstorm is for ideas, not tributes.

And yeah, Canonical just integrated the packages basically. Debian possibly did more work on Ubuntu as Canonical did I'd imagine.
