Idea #5660: Randomise comment nicknames

Description
Nicknames in posts and comments should be less human friendly. We should all be referred to as a number, not as a nickname

Another alternative is to just get people to refer to comment posters by post number, and link posts together somehow

My justification is that:
1) We should all be treated equal as a number. Numbers are easily forgotten, and makes it easy to reply to users, but makes us more anon
2) The use of nicknames promotes "powerusers", who people will unfairly vote any idea for because they had a few other ones.
3) I've seen eldmannen be unfairly targetted by someone with a pointless personal attack
4) I know I'm being unfairly targetted by someone too. My comments should be treated the same as everyone elses. Everyones comments should be treated with the same respect each.
5) Brainstorm should be 100% fair, everyone should have the same fighting chance with an idea! Just because they post what seems to be a notoriously dumb idea once, doesn't mean that people who read the idea should be able turned off, just because they remember the first one.

SPAM will be just as easy to catch, and admins could still be shown nicknames.

A system like this also helps stop continuing bitchiness amongst the same members (some people just like fighting).

CRAP
we really need a way to change votes, I accidentally voted this down. >>

I hardly ever read who posted what idea, so I don't really care, and if it prevents powerusers, then sure. xD

That's a tough one for me to vote for just because your posts are usually some of the most relevant ones on here. I actually take extra time to think about them before responding or voting because I know that you did the same before posting them.

That's not to say I don't do the same for others, but a lot of posts are just rehashes of the same old thing or really have nothing pertaining to something that Ubuntu would deal with.

So I am not going to vote this time. While I agree that anonymity would leverage things a bit, I'm worried that being a number would lead to comments that were a bit more... harsh?

I just don't get it why you are inventing issues when there are not there, I don't think many people would really vote an idea up or down because of the user that submitted it.

People don't like rejection, so if you argue with someone in the comments against something, understandably, they may not treat them fairly any longer (its like any forum, beacuse you can post comments, things can get heated).

There was a post yesterday that told eldermannen to get a life basically, so we know its happening for sure. From what I read, that guy there would have ensured he voted down all of eldermannens ideas over something as simple as a comment probably. So we know its happening.

By making things a bit more anonymous, the agro poster yesterday would not have been able to do so with elders ideas. Anonymising things ensures emotion gets less in the way of proper discussion and ideas.

I can't say he voted all of his ideas down for sure, but I'd say, its very likely (because its easy to do)..

I submit to you Jonathan Gabriel's Greater Internet ******* Theory:

More seriously, any potential advantage is outweighed by the cold heft of alienation...what does "Ubuntu" mean?
