Idea #5615: Make sure Hardy users know: You can't use the same profile for Firefox 2 and Fx

bug This idea was marked as being not considered for implementation the 26 August 08.

Rationale
One thing people in the Mozillazine forums have tried to make sure people are aware of is that once someone uses a profile on Firefox 3 they can never use the same profile on Firefox 2 again. Period.

With Ubuntu Hardy so close to the release date we need to make sure users know that if they want to keep a profile for use on Firefox 2 they need to create a new profile for Firefox 3 and import their bookmarks, settings, etc., over. I'm already seeing this problem come up in the Ubuntu forums and Hardy's only in Beta release. We really need to find ways to be proactive about getting this info out to users if Firefox 3 will indeed be the default browser for Hardy. (And I can't see anyone who could do anything about it waking up to the fact that this may not be a great idea.)
