In all essence, that would be considered spam. Trying to influence a crowd outside of the Ubuntu spectrum could be more harmful than anything considering that digg is non-partisan on distributions.
There is already a considerable disdain for Ubuntu on that site due to the sheer number of inaccurate stories that promote being able to do this and that in Ubuntu while ignoring the fact that these same things can be done in every other distribution as well.
Not to mention that it would unfairly influence votes. People who do not use digg would likely see their ideas lost do to the influence of an outside source.

You can digg it with out integration just copy and past the idea href to digg.
As to unfair we already have "Help promote it!" banners to put on sites. They would have to take the time to create an account to vote which most people wont do.

Agree with XSP, certain people on Digg love to complain and we'd only be fueling the fire so to speak.

I think it should be against the rules, to advertise your ideas on other sites.

I agree, advertising brings an unfair advantage. And its fact that there are exclusive groups in digg with hundreds of friends who are unfairly promoted to frontpage (they just vote for each other). So this gives heavy digg users an advantage..
Gonna digg this idea down. It compromises the fairness of the system

And we don't want random people here but instead Ubuntu users. 3 good ideas are wayyyyyy better than 50 000 lame ideas.
