Idea #5589: Brainstorm: create "documentation" category

bug This idea was marked as implemented the 12 August 08.
Written by steve196 the 24 Mar 08 at 15:52. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: Implemented
Rationale
A seperate "help/documentation" category would be nice.
I think, the biggest remaining weaknesses of modern linux systems are in the area of documentation. Lots of good ideas needed there.

Selected solution (#1): Auto-generated solution of idea #5589
Written by steve196 the 24 Mar 08 at 15:52.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #5589 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

Actually, nobody bothers to read the documentation.
So its not much of a problem.

Our biggest problem is that all hardware should work out-of-the-box.

No one reads it because it's often hardly existent or very poor. Especially new users would benefit from a better documentation.

Windows probably have great documentation.
Anyone know anyone who ever read it?

Ubuntu's documentation can be great if we fully use the Wiki system:
