Description
The standard ubuntu theme should remain the default theme, but I think that some people would love to use a different one.

Currently, it takes a bit of time to find a really good theme and find out how to install it.

So how about including a good cool-looking theme (maybe black with ubuntu-orange highlights) in the default install?

Yeah, totally.

I was looking around in the repos, and I found this Tropic theme. o.o it has a wallpaper and everything, and it's not that bad looking. Why isn't this included by default? It's much better than Cruz, that's for sure....

We just need more good themes as an option.

How many themes would you want included by default? I theme is a pretty personal choice, and while it would be great to let people see there are other options out there it could be hard getting themes everyone likes. Remember, Every theme has people who absolutely love it, while others hate the very same theme.

Plus every additional theme means more things going onto the ISO. A theme may be relatively small, but we want to make sure we don't add so many themes that it takes away space that may be needed for other things.

I totally agree, you won't find the one theme everyone loves. But we have dozens of screensavers, but only a hand full of themes, some of which are optimized for accessibility and look rather ugly. The other themes all look very similar.

Two (or so) more themes would not hurt anybody.

Cool is subjective.

There were some REALLY nice themes in the Hardy alphas, but they completely got rid of them in the beta. I can't even find them anymore. Seems like themes of that quality should at least be included, if not default.

The one I saw in alpha 4 was the best, but the one in alpha 5 was nice too.

If you can find those, maybe you can talk someone into at least including them.

Except for the window buttons (+ - x) in the first screenshot: perfect!
my opinion...

It would be good to see a choice of themes at one point of the installer, letting you choose your theme, once Ubuntu is installed

Yeah, they can cooperate with DeviantART community to make a competition.

The deviantart would be a separate idea already up here.
