Description
It would be useful if the drive (other HDD or USB Key,...) could be renamed by a simple right click + rename in nautilus (like a folder)
Actually you have to boot under Windows or use the mtool wich is really not user friendly.

Indeed.
I was just thinking the same thing recently. I need to label several drives (3 ext3, 2 NTFS). There is no simple way to do so in Linux (especially if you're talking about more than one filesystem).
Right clicking on a drive icon in GNOME and KDE and having a "rename" option would be awesome.

Have you tried using the rightclick -> rename command when you hit 'my computer' under 'places'?

As far as I know, gparted in Hardy will be able to manage volume labels.

+1. Eliminate one more reason for me to boot Windows!
Psycho_zs: I don't know if this feature is supposed to be in Hardy or not but it doesn't seem to be working in Hardy Beta 1 (I just tested it).

Definitely a +1. I was quite embarrassed a couple of times when showing Ubuntu to my family and they asked how they could rename their thumb drives and I told them there was no easy way to do it... :-/
And if you show them an algorithm like the one on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RenameUSBDrive they are just going to sigh and say how Windows is so much more simple than Linux (and, on this case, they won't be wrong).
