Idea #5443: sticker notes (post it) applet shoudn't disapear

Written by yzarc the 22 Mar 08 at 21:32. Category: Others. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
A very useful applet lost its utility since something made it auto hide every time we click on a empty area. there's no sense in "remember that I should remember anything". The expected behaviour of one sticker note is stay where I put unless that I move(hide / remove) it.

I really like to be able to "clean" the desktop easily clicking on an empty area...

I understand your point , but some other people (me included ;) ! ) quite like this possibility...

I don't vote, because I think this should be developed, and added as a little option in "preferences". Should satisfy everybody ;)

sebastien.worms, Of course my idea doesn't stand to impose that behaviour for everybody, I just ask for this additional option.
Thank you for your polite comment.

If I'm understanding your request properly, I agree completely. Personally, I think the point of Sticky Notes is that they _stick_ to your desktop, regardless of where on the desktop you click. You should be able to choose this in the preferences.

If you use Compiz+Emerald this happens but not with just plain Metacity?

I absolutely hate that they don't disappear when I click on the desktop.
