Description
http://www.getdeb.net/ is a very nice website that provides software in .deb packages for ubuntu, it is a very useful thing for many obvious reason, it would be nice if it was officialy supported, or at least, helped by Canonical, and made even better...

It won't be officially supported by Canonical, otherwise the programs would just be in the repos. :P
Linux Mint has support for getdeb in mintInstall though... x]

I love getdeb.net but Canonical's support would restrict what they could do!

I've frequently had problems with debs from getdeb.net. I don't think they generally do a good job, and would rather compile from source and make my own package.

Seems like motu's proposed to collaborate with them, but getdeb's people refused.

goodevilgenius,
we don't get frequent problems reports. If you do such a good job please feel free to help us.

tacone, we have not refused any request for collaboration, most of the requests that we received was to abandon our work and move it into the existing MOTU processes.

I use getdeb.net all the time, and think it's a great site.
