I certainly agree as well; my Buffalo Nfiniti USB wireless adapter doesn't work with Ubuntu (or any other distro I've tried, for that matter), even after trying ndiswrapper. But for those whose adapters *do* work (with some tweaking), I think Internet resources and documentation are pretty much the most important thing in an OS since an Internet connection is the major gateway to everything else that the OS can be used for.

Definitely!

It sucks to install Ubuntu on a laptop, then have no idea how to get to the internet to look up how to get to the internet. :P

VPN!
It is very hard to download vpn tools without using vpn tools, when the only internet connection available - is vpn!
