Rationale
Change the default volume icon/bar that appears when using volume media buttons or keyboard shortcuts. The default icon/bar is hideous, huge, and right in the center of the screen. Please make the default icon more aesthetically pleasing, small, and preferably in the lower right hand corner area (or make the position adjustable).

I haven't used my dell laptop under windows in quiet some time, but I vaguely recall my media keys generating a decent looking volume bar in a discrete location.

Playing with stuff I notice that Metacity has a beautiful default volume icon. It's still in the center though :-(. I suppose this is a Compiz problem...I still hate it though.
