Description
Nm-applet really should be able to handle being connected to an Ethernet and a Wi-Fi network at the same time. The lack of this ability is just shameful.

You have hit directly on my one biggest gripe with NetworkManager, it's really quite disturbing and very, VERY frustrating when something is going wrong or you're testing the wireless, and it removes your wired connection for the duration wether you want it to or not.

Adding to this, you should build in some form of network teaming that is easy to set up (as in, pick two networks, click "team networks" and it works). Even if it's something simple like giving every other request to a different network.

Reply to korin43:
Something like if you have two internet connections, they will share the load?

and allow easy internet-connection sharing with that! E.g. you get your internet by ethernet and hand it on to a friend by wireless

NetworkManager 0.7 will have this feature.

Then I eagerly await NetworkManager 0.7..

...then I have my connection to my windows VM, which needs to be routed to the internet transparently..

I'm not sure whether to mark this up or down, as, like bigdufstuff said, NetworkManager 0.7 will have this...

Here's a link in the meantime: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Interviews/DanWilliams

Can we please mark this as 'done'?

Yeah, and connect to two Ethernet connections for multi-homed connections.

I think NetworkManager should create a separate icon for each connection, so you can change all of them separately.

additionally, it should be possible to connect to more than 1 VPN.

Scifi guy:

Connection teaming does exactly what you were saying (takes too connections and tries to split the load). It's actually apparently not very easy to do well, but something as simple as what I was suggesting (each request goes to a different connection) can make a difference.
I think eldamannen is talking about something similar.
