Provide the ability to update the system just by right-clicking on the update icon->silent update (or anything) so that no window appears and the full process runs in background. (only for official and authenticated packages of course)

I love this idea.

Decent idea, but actually I think it would be better if Update Manager could minimize to the tray instead.

I wouldn't like this, mostly because I need to pick what to download since kernel updates tend to cause me a lot of work so I save them for when I got the time.

I understand you vexorian but I didn't meant it to be an automatic operation whenever there is an update available.
This would be an option given, requiring the user's intervention (right click) ;)

Why each time someone suggest something as an OPTION or a CHOICE, people believe this is a default setting or a replacement for the current system? This is boring :|

I know I don't express myself very well in English but I though I was clear enough. I'll try to emphasize better this point in the future :)

Also it should be possible to log out or shut down! When choosing shutdown update should finish before shutdown (like on windows ;-)
