Description
I don´t think this is possible rigth now, would be great to display the size of the folders in the tab "size in Nautilus", currently it is just for files...
Maybe cache the results, and only compute the size of a folder if there are changes, so it won´t have to do it everytime ubuntu restarts...
I don´t say to make it default, no, that would probably slow things too much, just add that option, so we can turn it on...

Well this would be a great feature, but it isn't something that can eassily be implemented.

Perhaps as part of tracker, or as an extension to the file-system?

Baobab from gnome-utils can show you what you need. You can put opening with baobab to context menu for opening directories.

Please NO !
Do not implement this feature !

This would force Nautilus to scan recursively each sub-folder, which would trigger an enormous disk activity.

I find Nautilus slow enough, even with the current features: Simply displaying the file count on each folder generates a lot of disk activity.

I do not want to hear my harddrive screaming each time I open a folder: I just want to see what's in that damn folder, not scan my whole disk !

I said to add it as an option, NOT as default, it is a good idea to read everything before posting...
