Description
I use xfce because I like it better, but most people who use ubuntu use the default gnome desktop. Most forum help show menu commands only applicable to gnome. These menus should be added to xubuntu. It's a lot easier than telling everyone to show help that can be done in cli, even though cli is better than gui.

I've used Linux for over 10 years (Slackware and Debian) and have used Ubuntu for my main home desktop machine for over a year now. I just finished repurposing an older machine with Xubuntu and was surprised to see that the menu options/layout in Xubuntu do not match the menu options/layout in Ubuntu.
I understand these are using different desktops/window managers and that not all applications are available in both of them. But, I think some re-arranging of the Xubuntu menus could be done to more closely match Ubuntu.

Yes, that's exactly it, said much better and simpler than I did.

Xubuntu is a bear to use. Tougher than Fluxbox to get used to actually.
Getting it closer to something that is easy to use is a good idea.

@Graf
I've tried fluxbox before. It's extremely minimal and not very intuitive. Xfce doesn't have the minimum 15 pieces of flair gnome has to have. And I like that. Not too simple, and very effective. It's all about consistency, in this case.

@angryhomer17:
I don't think that Graf meant that Xfce was difficult to use - he was talking about Xubuntu. It is one of the worst Xfce distros, mostly because it is TOO MUCH like GNOME. Xubuntu was conceived with the intent of creating a less resource-intensive Ubuntu for slow computers, not to showcase Xfce's power. It has been marginalized and is marketed purely for lightness, not power.

Well that makes more sense. What about xfce on debian? I've used xfce on gentoo before, but gentoo is too involved for me. Though, I still like using a lot of gnome applications. So would that affect my distro choice?
