Description
Ubuntu could create it's own revenue stream if it supported small businesses.

There is HUGE potential for this. I saw one suggestion that asked Ubuntu to publish stats about hardware. This is a start.

This could become a self sustaining model. The promotion of Ubuntu on the mobile platform is also a good step.

Imagine if we could put the same effort into a business edition (with partners of course) as there is into the mobile edition.

I forsee the Home Edition and Business Edition. Two simple choices. You either work or play with your PC. That simple.

The Home/Business-model... well.. maybe. But still I do like the idea about focusing a bit more on small businesses.

How about we just stick with one edition and not clutter it like Windows?

We already have like 4 official types for diff. computer types.

And some people do business AND home work and play at home

One edition, all inside.

Or in the repos there could be a "business pack" and "home pack" so you get a basic bare bones OS from the CD but you can get the pack.

But that would be bad for people w/o internet...

ok then, have a home pack and a business pack and choose which one you want from the link and change if you want.

that's only if we can't fit it all on a CD.
