Description
There is an annoying thing in synaptic which get you work slower. Every time you have to press a button to get a search dialog box in order to search in synaptic. Absolutely needless. There only should be a search-box or search bar which is always visible exactly the same way as in firefox after you pressed ctrl-f.

After starting synaptic the focus should be right there in the search box to be ably to type and search.

Searching is the most important and basic function of synaptic so why do you have to press a button for that every time??

You should be able to set to show and sort the view by both installed and downloading size (and by all other possible parameters available from a package)

Yes, Synapatic should have a search field in the upper-right corner like Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Internet Explorer 7, etc.

Good idea. I've seen this elsewhere. Mandriva's "RPMDrake" comes to mind.
