Description
There's no normal support for steering-weels for linux. If you plug it in USB, it not works property in games.
Maybe, it's not common needed, but linux is loosing gamers because in windows it works good.

I'd like more games first, but your idea ain't bad... (As long as it applies to other joysticks, game pads...etc)

Some steering wheels work (Logitech models seem to be well supported) and code to support force-feedback exists in the kernel but is not compiled into Ubuntu kernels.
