Ubuntu Email Address

I think it is about time Ubuntu got its own email address for users. Like microsoft have hotmail and Mac has .mac, Ubuntu needs to have @ubuntu.com address

It will be even better when you install Ubuntu for the first time and you setup your details. It will ask you to setup a @ubuntu.com account. Once complete it will setup the email address with the default email client.

Ubuntu is becoming more professional and easier to use for users. By adding a feature like this could push the Operating System to new users.

Use Hotmail. No, Gmail. No, Yahoo Mail. Lots of choices already.

Nobody's going to migrate to Ubuntu for a free e-mail account.

And I DEFINITELY don't want my distro nagging my mother to use it's spiffy 'free services'. That's the slippery slope to adware (Intuit, OS X, Windows, etc).

I switched to Linux to get away from those corrupt practices.
No thanks.

Ubuntu developers currently have @ubuntu.com which makes it easy for upstream and debian developers to contact ubuntu developers. If we start giving everyone Ubuntu email addresses, it will be much more difficult to keep track of who is and who isnt a developer, making our interaction with Debian more difficult, which isnt good for the distro.
