Description
To make Ubuntu as easy and pleasing as possible, everything should be made as consistent as possible.

Some tooltips are annoying. For instance, Firefox 3's tooltip is "Firefox 3.0", the gnome terminal's tooltip reads "Use the command line", but the Network Manager Editor has a tooltip that says "Edits the wireless networks used in Network Manager.

Another inconsistency are the names of the applications appearing in the menus. For example, Totem is called "Movie Player" and Rhythmbox is called "Rhythmbox Music Player", while Brasero is called "Brasero Disc Burning" and K3B is called just "K3B". None of those are consistently named!

Perhaps this should be coordinated with FreeDesktop.org? Discuss this further at the Ubuntuforums.org link below!

Naming all applications is not up to Ubuntu! A short description may help. (Similar to what KDE is already doing!)

Rhythmbox's name is "Rhythmbox", but in the gnome menu it says "Rhythmbox Music Player". Ubuntu shouldn't change the name, but show them in a consistent manner.
