Description
A text-mode installation right from Desktop CD would be nice.
See, if i just want to install, and don't want to see any graphics, just install, quick and efficiently.
No desktop load, no GTK, no heavy load. Just text installation from Desktop standard CD.

If you don't want graphics, why not just download the text-based alternate install CD?

Why have two CDs for the same process?
The alternate CD is for a really, relly custom installation. But a text-mode installation is an easy and small implamantation. Should be considerated.

"Why have two CDs for the same process?"
Disk space.

Good idea.
You have to download >600MB more to get a text installer.
Bandwith, time, another CD burned, more work for Canonical to make an extra CD, people not understanding this...
The list is long.
Integrate the alternate installer into the main CD.
