Idea #4122: Live preview in nautilus

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #111: Previews different types of files.
Written by elitest the 10 Mar 08 at 18:47. Category: Accessibility. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
The preview options in nautilus are good but could be awesome. Perhaps create a close to full-size live preview of the file. You could do this with things like movies, pictures, documents, etc instead of the tiny scaled down preview in thumbnail view.

Is there really reason to have a distinction between icons and, eg. images and videos, anymore? Looking at LowFat picture scaling and handling could be done better. Why make a small icon of something when it could be using the actual thing?

(Given this idea a + BTW)
