Idea #3348: View image thumbnails in save/open dialogs

Written by roazena the 5 Mar 08 at 15:59. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
I realize Gnome is responsible for this being unavailable because it conflicts with their design philosophy (and requires recycling Nautilus code), but it's irritating to have to have a Nautilus window open in parallel with the save/open dialog just to identify an image.

Fork the filesystem code or whatever it takes, but make it clear to Gnome that a feature available by default to the other major OSes is not optional to Linux any more.
