Idea #2975: Graphical tool to configure boot menu

Written by laptoplinux the 4 Mar 08 at 03:23. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: New
Rationale
While it is not terribly difficult to edit the boot menu by hand, many other distros out there such as Fedora and OpenSuse have had a GUI tool for editing the boot menu and changing things such as the default OS for years now. It seems like something as simple as that should be in Ubuntu as well. Additionally, this would help simplify matters every time a kernel upgrade completely overwrites any boot menu customizations that a user has made. Having to go back in and manually re-edit the boot menu each time can be a pain.
