Idea #28642: Make indicators and other elements look consistent with the Dash

bug This idea was marked as being not considered for implementation the 9 October 11.
Written by vs8 the 7 Oct 11 at 17:51. Related project: Unity. Status: Won't implement
Rationale
The new Unity Dash has a sleek modern look. I'm a huge fan of the active blur effect. Why not bring this look to the panel and indicators as well for consistency?

Currently CCSM lets the user set panel transparency but it looks inconsistent with the whole system since toolbars, tab bars etc. don't support transparency.

Solution #1: Make everything transparent and consistent with the Dash' look.

The current look of drop down menus, indicators and panel look kind of old.

The users can make the panel transparent, and it features active blur, but the indicators lack that look, making them look inconsistent. Why not make them transparent as well? This could be at least an option in CCSM, not a default look. This could be a huge + for Unity's customization options.
