Idea #2862: Add a windows tool that checks hardware compatibility on the LiveCD

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #40: Create a better hardware database.
Written by jiu the 3 Mar 08 at 21:10. Category: Hardware support. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
Adding on the LiveCD a windows program that scans your hardware / asks for your computer's model name if it's a laptop and then checks its Ubuntu compatibility from the database so they have an idea of what's going to work out of the box before installing.

This would make new adopters' life easier

This is a great idea. Basically the hardware database client but for windows.

Contributions would probably double.
