Idea #28132: gnome-display-properties add option "primary"

Rationale
it would be fine to be able to select your primary screen using gnome-display-properties

the problem: on dualscreen using a laptop you have always the menubar on the laptopdisplay...it is just possible to change left-right but you cannot select your primary screen where the menu appears.

at the moment i use
xrandr --output CRT1 --primary
and
xrandr --output LVDS --primary
to change the primary screen

you remember the redmond style "checkbox primary monitor"...

i would implement that style to gnome-display-properties just adding a checkbox to each shown screen - where you can tell the system who is the primary one!

Solution #2: gnome-display-properties add list with option "primary"

Kinda like the first solution.

With the difference that you could change it to a list with the element order meaning which one has the highest priority of becoming the primary display.

Dude, checkboxes are for checking things independently of other things, also they lack hierarchy.

You mean radiobuttons.

Or present the screens in a list where the highest/first element has the highest priority of becomming the primary display.

The most appropriate venue for this narrowly-focused feature request is a Wishlist Bug on the Gnome Bug Tracker: http://bugzilla.gnome.org

Closing in Brainstorm.
