Hello,
P.S. : a simple solution to view the 2 screens = the beamer and the computer screen.

Best regards.

Hello

It is true, beamers and ubuntu are having some problems.
When i first connected a beamer to my HP portable, I tried the FN+F4 button without any result on the screen.

I was looking around and found a partial solution to my problem. First you have to adjust de xorg.conf file:

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Look for the section
Section “Device”
Identifier “Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller”
Driver “i810″
BusID “PCI:0:2:0″
EndSection

Insert the code:

Option “MonitorLayout” “CRT,LFP”
Option “Clone” “true”
Option “DevicePresence” “true

before the EndSection

Save the file and exit.

Press “Ctrl + Alt + Backspace” to restart Xorg.conf

Make sure that your beamer is already connect when you press “Ctrl + Alt + Backspace” or when you reboot your pc.

A better support for beamers (projectors) would be very nice .
Keep Ubuntu up and running, it's the best OS around.

Is it a dupe or a "Not an Idea"? @Auzy, if it's a dupe you should report it.
