Solution #1: Quickly can do more with help.
Written by TooSmart the 22 Jan 11 at 06:55.
I would be cool if there was a way to assign command lines to buttons on quickly for those of use who don't know python, or some sort of workaround at least... Since command lines can do a lot of things, we can make GUI out of command lines...

Solution #2: Alice should be included.
Written by TooSmart the 22 Jan 11 at 06:58.
Imagine those who would want to program at an early age, who don't need to know programming but still can make their own games/movies pictures etc...

Solution #3: Create community article "Introduction to Programming"
Written by Cityscape the 26 Jan 11 at 12:04.
Have a community page that explains a bit about programming on Ubuntu. It can do stuff like answering the FAQs, list which languages are supported and give advice as to what tools need to be installed to program in which languages.

Solution #1 seems to be a request for volunteers. Not much Brainstorm can do about that. Or is it an idea to create GUI frontends for more commands? If so, which ones? (and it would be a duplicate).

Solution #2 seems to be a package request - please see http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/faq/#question12

The Rationale is very vague. Anyone can 'program' simple shell scripts after a few minutes with one of the many online training videos. Anyone can 'program' a launcher even more simply. A GUI can simplfy syntax, but it cannot read minds or intent (especially if the user is muddled or uncertain about their intent). Is this oriented toward children? New-learning adults? Should the same solutions apply to both, though they learn differently?

Or have I missed the point entirely?
