Maybe it's a little late for this suggestion. I was thinking in Africa and Ubuntu. Maybe this word talks about a specific place and tribes of this continent, but I always think in Africa when I listen or see that word. In all the versions of the distribution, there are only "hearth" colors, like: Sand, Chocolate, stone and sun colors, All are very warm.

But Africa has much more places and colors. What about the jungle, the forest, the sea, even the sky?

I suggest that every version of Ubuntu gives the chance of use diferent themes in that way. A jungle theme, a sky theme, animal themes, a Africa at night theme and, of course, a Human Theme (tribe).

Thanks.

Pd: Excuse me, I don't know English very well.

When I said that "it's a little late", I was talking about Intrepid Ibex (8.04). Ok, maybe it isn't. Anyway the idea can be used from Jxx Jxx (8.10).

I agree with this. All the default themes look too similar, and there is a sever lack of color contrast in all of them. Some variety would be nice.

When I think Africa, I think rivers and forests because that's all I've seen of it. xD My mom went there on a missions trip once. But yeah, this is a great idea, Ubuntu should have a couple different themes available to the user at first start. =]

Yeah definitely the brownish theme sucks ass... Im sorry but its true. Ubuntu should come with at least 5 different themes. I would suggest that they are based on THE 5 ELEMENTS... Ive been to South Africa and its landscapes are just overwhelming... Ubuntu could easily add some default theme that is visually appealing and represents its homeland :)

Ubuntu should not trow away the color scheme it has now but building on it sounds like a good idea.

A lot of people don't like the default brown theme that much. Having a few different High-quality theme with different color but all kinking with the Africa / Nature concept.

Ubunteando says: the 5 elements. Ok. I've say that I don't know which one is the fifth, but that comment complete the idea. Water, Air, Earth, Fire and ¿Humanity? ¡Yeah, that's it!
