Description
Right now, Ubuntu boots up with Usplash. My idea is to integrate Splashy to replace Usplash. Why? Here are some reasons:

* Splashy supports PNGs using millions of colors (Usplash only supports PNGs using 256 colors).
* Splashy is easier to theme (With Usplash, you have to jump through quite a few hurdles to create a theme, and Splashy now has a GUI for theme creation in the works).
* Splashy doesn't take as long to boot as other alternatives (namely RHGB) and still looks just as nice.

Reasons to keep Usplash I have seen are:
* It has a modesetter, and since Splashy doesn't have one, it may break suspend and hibernation. This is set to be solved in Splashy's 0.4 release. This is the biggest reason I see in objection to it.
* It supports pics being used to create custom progressbars. This is also slated to be solved in Splashy 0.4.

Neg. It's a freaking splash screen.

Splashy can display the boot process in Verbose mode with F2/ESC keys, Usplash can't.
This is nice implemented in OpenSUSE and other distributions.
