Idea #26544: direct instant messaging in gnome panel or notification area

Written by mojoe the 25 Nov 10 at 00:02. Related project: Gnome. Status: New
Rationale
If one receives a instant message over pidgin or empathy or what ever the notification area displays it. It would be nice if one could answer it directly by typing the answer in an inputfield included in the notification. The messaging menu could also have a buddy list as submenu and an input-field for short messages to a buddy. so you don't have to open new message window every time you want drop a quick message.

I do not think that it's a good idea.
The notification should follow theses rules : KISS
Kip It Simple and Stupid.

The less they will do, the more the user will understand what he is doing.
