Idea #26491: grub boot screen is really ugly

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #21: Professional-looking bootloader.
Written by lordphoenix the 18 Nov 10 at 08:48. Category: Usability. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: Not an idea
Rationale
For people who see Ubuntu for first time the first thing they see is an ugly boot screen in text mode. It's the best way to let people think that we cant'use GNU/Linux without command line even it's not true.

Solution #1: Use Burg as boot screen.
Written by lordphoenix the 18 Nov 10 at 08:48.
Burg is a brand-new boot loader based on GRUB. It has a highly configurable menu system which works in both text and graphic mode. Additional features like stream support and multiple input/output device are also planned.
You can see some screeshoots here : http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/06/get-animated-themed-icon-only-grub-menu-usin g-burg-now-simple-to-use/
