Idea #26239: Simplify Default Gnome Panels

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #18039: Making the GNOME panel better.
Written by bfaceholet the 23 Oct 10 at 18:38. Related project: Gnome. Status: Not an idea
Rationale
The default panels for Ubuntu with Gnome are much to confusing. This is usually the first thing users experience with Ubuntu and it is much to confusing. I think reducing the panels to just one panel with a dock or application launchers/ window list embedded in it, or a dock with system notifications and other panel essentials embedded in the dock.

Written by bfaceholet the 23 Oct 10 at 18:38.
Offer users a simple and use-able one panel desktop, with a big enough area to offer a dock like application launcher embedded within the panel.
