Description
Olympus and Fuji's digital cameras use the xD card format, which, unlike the more popular SD format, is not recognized by Ubuntu.

I have to reboot into Windows everytime I want to downoad pictures from my camera.

xD cards work just fine with Ubuntu. If yours is not working, this is likely a bug with your card reader, and should be filed as such in launchpad.

This is probably about xD readers that are built-into laptops. External card readers seem to work okay.

It is not a card reader problem. At least there are others:

I have the same XD card problem. It is not detected at Hardy but with the same reader i managed to read the card at another os.
