Related project: Nautilus.
Status: Implemented
Rationale
Right now, Nautilus's interface (namely the Main Toolbar) has a lot of clutter-making buttons, removing valuable screen space for actually viewing the files (the things you are actually using Nautilus to view)
The mockups in #1 doesn't work for my use cases at all. There are two function in the toolbar i use:
- change the view
- go to parent folder
both are not accessable in those mockups. Using the mousewheel on the view-drop-down is much faster than going through the menu and I do change the view too often to loose this functionality.
