Idea #2471: Use a mobile phone as a webcam + microphone
Help promote this idea!
the 2 Mar 08 at 13:57. Category: Multimedia. Related project:
Use the video capabilities of mobile phones for video conversation with "VOIP" or IM clients (kopete, amsn, openwengo, ekiga, skype, ...).
You would then have a mobile webcam if you use the bluetooth channel :)
It's related to a broader issue: enhance the interoperability between mobile devices and linux.
Could think also about wifi broadcasting.

Add smartcam to "Install and Remove Applications"
the 17 Apr 10 at 17:55.
Smartcam turns a phone with bluetooth and camera into a handy webcam ready to use with your PC. At the moment it is difficult to install, so my suggestion is to add it to the Ubuntu software repositories.
