K3B does this quite nicely.

Gnomebaker: No disk check
K3B: Verify written data checkbox in burn dialog
Gnome Brasero:
Tools->Check integrity
Image checksum after burn plugin enabled by default (and you can choose the hashing algorithm)
file checksum plugin available
So it seems this idea is already implemented since Brasero is the official Ubuntu burning software, unless it is to have the option in the burn dialog.
I'll try out Brasero for a change to see if it does the check correctly after burning. :)
And I didn't know about the file checksum feature and hash algo choice.
Might make it a more interesting option than K3B.
One feature I'm still looking for is delete source files after burning.
"This idea was marked as already implemented the 30 May 10."
which ? there are 3 suggestions!
i did not like when you, brainstorm developers, made bunches of solving ways instead old "ideas" . they now bunched by their "rationale".
in this case, you see that this marking as implemented feature is now buggy.
i have searched now suggestion about that new/old brainstorm and found: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/17273/ "Allows us to revert to the old brainstorm UI" , now i will look it.
