Idea #2456: Superkey as a modificator

Written by aruseni the 2 Mar 08 at 12:32. Category: Look and Feel. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
Some time ago, I was installing Ubuntu on one of my friend's computer and he find out he can't make some settings he was accustomed to.

It was the shortcut "hide all windows and show the desktop" binded to Ctrl+Alt+D. He wanted to bind it to Superkey+D, but the "Keyboard Shortcuts" program haven't allow it.

And yeah, in fact, it doesn't allow to use the superkey as a modificator. Only as a typical key. Can you change it please? Not for me, but for him.

@aruseni: that is possible: System -> Preferences -> Keyboard -> Layout Options -> Alt/Win key behavior -> Meta is mapped to the win keys

But it should be the default, so +1
