Idea #24184: There is no visual clue when the user cuts a file or folder

Written by Liso22 the 27 Mar 10 at 17:51. Related project: Nautilus. Status: New
Rationale
When a file or folder is cut there is no visual clue it has happened, maybe it's not a really big issue but it feels really weird if you come from mac or windows. Every time I do it I feel I pressed the wrong keys.

Solution #1: When a file is cut it should become transparent
Written by Liso22 the 27 Mar 10 at 17:51.
Well, I think the solution was obvious since I wrote the title on the rationale. It should work like on Windows or Mac do, where when when you cut a file it becomes transparent or else there should be some kind of visual clue that already has been cut.

Solution #2: use notify-osd to show info about the clipboard
Written by jborbon the 24 Aug 10 at 06:45.
use the notify-osd to show in a quickly way actions of the file management like cut or copy

for example

If the user use the copy/cut command in one or more files, a notification should say:
"The current file (or selection) is ready to copy/move"
