VLC has equalizer presents, sure. But if you make a custom equalizer setting and exit the program, and start it again, the setting is lost. This is annoying to people who have speakers that needs a certain universal equalization to sound their best. I know there's system-wide equalizers out there that have savable presets, but I still would like to see this feature in VLC.
ThatBum even in the links to VLC forum threads you provided, is written that it is known bug (that VLC don't remembers equalizer preset) and that it is possible to workaround it by inputting the values via "Preferences/Audio/Filters/Equalizer". So I quite don't understand the purpose of your idea (And I also think that it should be addressed to VLC project team in the first place).
This is not what I mean. What I mean is to create a non-standard preset by moving the frequency sliders, and saving THAT. Although, that is useful, I didn't get far enough in the post to see that...you do have to enable advanced however. I'm thinking of the beginning user, it should be just in the Audio thingy, but that's a whole new idea.
